These are a few shots I took when spending the bank holiday in Whitby. We managed to avoid the crowds by sneaking around the side streets to take in the best it has to offer.
I love Whitby and try to visit a few times a year – like everyone we have our routine. First is a good walk up to the Abbey with a coffee in hand, sitting on the cliff top looking down over the bay. Once we have rested we stroll back down the 199 steps and stop at the Duke of York for lunch, then a wonder over to the arcades and around the harbour.
This year the crowds took us off the normal path and we decided to head up into the side streets where I tried to capture the town at its best. We had a great weekend and with Mrs Riley’s patience I was able to play around and take some street shots for the blog.
